A composer may apply for an LDS Commission by following the above link to the application,
printing it from their browser, and submitting it with appropriate supporting materials. LDS Composer commissions are available to composers belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) or other composers who are willing to engage LDS subject matter. FAQs
The application and supporting materials should
be sent by regular or express mail and must
include a resume of compositional activity, a curriculum vitae, biographical sketch, letter of commitment from the performing entity and exactly two recent representative scores. One of these scores must be no more than five years old. Composers should select works that demonstrate
a knowledge of writing for their chosen genre. FAQs
Scores with recordings are considered extremely helpful in the judging process. For ease of
handling, judges urge composers to burn a single CD containing both submitted works and to use multiple tracking for multi-movement works. Be certain the CD case lists detailed program and track information. The judging panel will not be able to review cassette tapes, MP3, DVD, video, or DAT formats. Midi recordings are discouraged. FAQs
