Alex Mincek’s 2012 commission percussion piece, Out of Thin Air was performed as part of the Composers Now festival in February 2015. The piece was performed by the Queens College New Music Ensemble. In 2014 the piece was performed by Line Upon Line percussion in Austin, Texas on January 17 and was also part of the Avant Music Festival, where it was performed by percussionist Ian Antonio on February 28 at the Wild Project arts venue in New York City.
